AEP Sign Saulo Rodrigues dos Santos & André Luiz Rodrigues Lopes. Try saying that 10 times. The team from Paphos has signed these two Brazilians who will join the rest of the team in training currently at Xanthi in Greece. In another announcement, AEP also announced their new Spanish goalkeeper Manuel Reina Rodrigez who will join the team next Monday due to his wife giving birth in the next few days.
André Luiz Rodrigues Lopes, or simply Andrezinho (born February 15, 1985), is a Brazilian midfielder who last played for Perth Glory in the A-League.
Prior to playing in Australia, Andrezinho had spent time with Brazilian clubs Atlético Mineiro, CENE, Juventude and Roma. He’s also played in Uruguay for River Plate Montevideo and in China for Liaoning Whowin.
More recently in his career, Andrezinho has been playing in Japan for Tokushima Vortis and Consadole Sapporo.
Saulo Rodrigues dos Santos or simply Saulo (born February 18, 1982) is a Brazilian football player who last played for Académica de Coimbra. He also holds Portuguese citizenship. It’s worth mentioning that transfermarkt value him at €800,000.
As for AEP’s new goalkeeper, Manuel ‘Manolo’ Reina Rodríguez was a product of hometown Málaga CF’s youth system, and would appear in one first-team match during 2005–06, against Valencia CF (0–0 home draw), as the Andalusia side ranked last in La Liga.
In 2007, he joined Levante UD, but played mainly for the reserves. However, the team’s severe financial crisis led to Reina becoming first-choice (after the departure of Marco Storari). In eight games, he conceded 18 goals.
Reina appeared in 47 games in the following two seasons combined, the last of them ending in top flight promotion. For 2010–11, he was initially deemed second-choice, to newly signed Gustavo Munúa. However, after the Uruguayan conceded 10 goals in the first three games, Reina was selected for the next two rounds, keeping clean sheets against UD Almería (0–1 away win) and Real Madrid (0–0, at home); he eventually lost his starting position again, finishing the campaign with 18 appearances as the Valencian eventually retained its top division status.
